Lemongrass Essential Oil Product: 100% pure uncut Lemongrass essential oil Latin Name: Cymbopogon Flexuosus Country of Origin: Inda Extraction Method: Steam Distilled Parts Used: Plant Description: Lemongrass essential oil is extracted through steam distillation from the leaves of Cymbopogon Flexuosus which is a tropical grass grown widely throughout southeast Asia. Common Uses: Lemongrass essential oil is used as a topical antiseptic and antifungal agent. It is thought to be a warming remedy for aching muscles and joints. Lemongrass essential oil's aroma is stimulating and invigorating, and can be used for sluggish circulation and low energy. Common Application: Athletes foot (tinea): Add 3 drops of Lemongrass essential oil and 3 drops of Tea Tree essential oil to a footbath or bowl of warm water, and let the feet or other affected part stay in the water for 5-10 minutes. After bathing, dry the affected area with a clean towel. With a clean cotton swab, apply the undiluted Lemongrass essential oil directly to the infected area. Cover with an adhesive bandage, and repeat the process 2-3 times a day until the infection is clear. If the undiluted oil stings too much add 10 drops of Lemongrass essential oil to a teaspoon of vegetable oil and use that instead. Low energy or tiredness: Add 3 drops of Lemongrass essential oil to 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and massage into your calves and feet, using strokes that move up the legs and toward the heart. You can do the same with the arms. You can also vaporize 3 drops of Lemongrass essential oil for an invigorating effect. Blends well with the following essential oils: Bay, Bergamot, Chamomile, Citronella, Clary Sage, Geranium, Jasmine, Lemon, Mandarin, Orange, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Pine, Thyme, Rosemary, Rosewood and Ylang-ylang. Important: Due to FDA regulations our oils are being sold for external use only.
