So lightweight, but more importantly they fold into three pieces that will fit in most any piece of luggage. The shortest total length of any poles I’ve ever seen. Also fit inside my North Face backpack. Traveling for the pst three weeks in Ecuador they even go through security screening without a problem here. There is one issue you’ll want to be aware of. They don’t adjust.. You buy the length you want for most hiking and live with your choice. I had some concern about that prior to buying them, but it hasn’t been an issue for me. Black Diamond says to be careful with them, since they are carbon fiber they could fail if dented or slammed on rocks, but I’ve mistreated mine somewhat and haven’t found it to be an issue. I don’t just hand out five stars freely…these poles are among my best hiking buddies. They are also the most expensive poles I’ve ever seen!· Height6'4"· Weight200–225 lbs.· Age65–74Maude G.5 out of 5 stars. So lightMaude G.8 days agoThese poles are definitely the best on the market for the durability and lightness ! The tiny basket seems to catch on branches and brush that live alongside the trail. The pole catches, my foot hits the pole and trips me. The sun, the moon, and all the stars need to be lined up for this to happen . . . but it has. I am taking my poles today to grind off those little baskets. If this results in not being able to add big snow baskets come next winter, then so be it. I will buy Leki's that come with no baskets out of the box but with the ability to screw them on when the time comes. I was also advised by friends to not store my poles folded if possible. This will wear out the cables and their plastic covering.· Height5'8"· Weight150–175 lbs.· Age65–74· Yes,· I recommend this product. Foldable to a very manageable length, and easily deployed when you want. Raymond M.5 out of 5 stars.great for running long distanceRaymond M.a month agonoticeably lighter than my hiking poles but still confident they'll hold up while running with little weight on my back. i wouldn't use them for hiking with a heavy pack, a heavier/stronger pole is better for that, but for long runs to help with balance going downhill and a boost for power walking the uphills, they're great. I’ve carried trekking poles in the past on numerous hikes and multi day backpacking trips but never used them. On this trip (Milford Track in New Zealand) poles were a game changer. Hiked 12 hours in torrential rains and powerful winds- a day made not only doable, but safer and easier with these poles. Luckily I had them with me.· Height6'2"· Weight200–225 lbs.· Age65–74 Fernando G gteam25 out of 5 stars.Great poles!a month agoExcellent trekking poles! They provided great stability and support on my last 100 mile ultra in some very muddy and unstable conditions. Loved how light and packable they are for when not in use.
