John Edwards PRESIDENT SHAPE White Ironstone Oval Covered Sauce Dish Tureen

Description: Antique John Edwards PRESIDENTS SHAPE White Ironstone Oval Covered Sauce Tureen From the 1850’s Impressed mark inside base Beautiful sauce dish in the Presidents Shape nuts and leaves pattern. Oval footed tureen style dish with scroll handles and leaves at the sides. Lid has a walnut finial handle and a spoon slot at one side. Wonderful condition for its age at over 160 years old! The inside of the dish is very clean. No cracks or repairs. Although this really is in great condition, I want to be sure I mention any flaws I notice. There is a small dark spot on the top rim where there is a tiny pre-firing split. There are two chips on the underside/edge of the lid, one is very tiny and cannot be seen from the top at all. The other rounds the top edge slightly, but appears more as a slightly discolored spot from the top as it is a shallow chip. The inner rim on the underside of the lid is lightly discolored. The foot has one or two very small chips and minimal discoloration. This piece really does not look like it was used very often.
