Description: This vintage hand-carved wood totem pole stands at 10 inches tall and measures 5 1/2 inches at its widest point. It was carved in Canada in 1947 and is signed and marked with the year of creation. Base is marked, "Jasper Alta." The bottom has markings as well as the back of the totem but is difficult to decipher. It is dated, "March 6th, 1942". The totem pole weighs 2 oz. and is a unique piece of art that represents the culture and history of Native Americans in Canada. The provenance of this totem pole is not available, but it is a valuable collectible item that would make a great addition to any collection. Preowned Vintage with normal wear, fading, dust, etc. Displays well but when handles it is a bit unstable as the mounting screw at base is a bit loose and wings also have some movement.
